The Emerald Buddha or Phra Kaeo Morakot or official name - Phra Phuttha Maha Mani Rattana Patimakon made of green jade is very highly respected by all Thai people in Thailand because it is regarded by Thais as the most sacred of all Buddha images and is believed to guarantee the independence and properity of the nation. It is kept in the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra Kaew on the grounds of the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
